WWBWWBD - Week 8

Buckle your fanny packs and hide the good snacks, because your “writers” have hatched some gloriously ridiculous weekend schemes, and frankly, nobody can stop them!

WWBWWBD - Week 8

Hear ye, hear ye: it's WWBWWBD o'clock! We're ripping off the curtain (and possibly the curtain rod) to expose exactly where the OTR "writers" will be wandering and what they'll be guzzling on gameday, since a very serious judge in a very large wig has legally forbidden them from watching even one teeny-tiny snap of college football.

WSR: I will not be at the Historic Gopher Football Stadium, as Kid2 has been recruited to play in a lacrosse tournament at the NSC in Blaine. I am, for once, thankful she is a decent goalie as I do not want to be subjected to another Iowa-off.

Will there be Irish whiskey and sprite in my gigantic Yeti? Unless you have a warrant, I don't need to answer that.

glass: Off work for once, I'll be enjoying the bye week at home in Indianapolis. Tasked with doing the autumn yardwork, I'll be kept warm with a 6 pack of Pilsen and the knowledge that someday soon Ryan Walters is going to convince a(nother) clueless P4 AD that, actually, it was Purdue that was the problem.

deadread: I will be performing acts of citizenship in Kearney, Nebraska.

Please vote, everyone.

Narrator: Agreed! Everyone, please exercise your right to vote, either early or on November 3.

Biff: I'll be back at Lot C37 in Minneapolis with all of my best friends (except Ben) drinking whatever Pyres beers remain in the cooler I left in my friend’s truck after the Akron game. We’ll have the kid in tow (or rather, trying to keep up with him and his boundless Fleck-like energy) so if you want a beer and a beating this isn't the week. Unfortunately I expect Kirk Ferentz will take care of the latter.

BRT: I'm flying to Berlin! Drinking sparkling water because the airlines have started offering flavored sparkling water, and I'm into that. Or maybe ginger ale, because I think it is only still being manufactured for people to drink on flights.

RUReady4Brazil: Charlotte, NC. Rutgers has a chance to finally beat a ranked team for the first time since 2009, more than triple the longest drought of any P4 team but won't catch it all. I'll be hosting my kid's birthday party with leftover Labatt after my beer league hockey's team's big win yesterday.

MNW: A wiiiiide open Saturday morning in the Twin Cities that will likely mean raking leaves, watching the kids jump into those piles, re-raking the leaves, and repeating this approximately five times before I give up and tell my wife I'm mulching them with the mower. If it's nice enough and the forecast allows it, I might even try to do a little last-minute aerating and throw down some seed to patch.

...to be clear: mulching the leaves. Not the kids.

Definitely not the kids. I don't think. Unless the piss me off--------no, on the advice of counsel, I invoke my Fifth Amendment rights.

Anyway. I'll tune in to Northwestern-Rutgers and sit down with it for real when the girls go down for their naps, but I know it'll just make me mad.

Then it's Orchestra Hall on Saturday night for a concert the wife's been looking forward to. That means no booze by day, but a nice cocktail that evening and probably a couple leftover Oktoberfest to wind down at the end of the night.

lincolnparkwildcat: I'll be taking my family to their first game at New Ryan Field! I'll bring some pumpkin beers for tailgating.

Transient Buckeye: Ohio State is on a bye this weekend, so that means stress-free shitposting on the game threads.  If the weather's good, I'll probably try to get some of the garden beds cleaned out and winterized in the morning, before settling in for football at noon.  Water early if I'm smart, beers and other libations the darker it gets.

RMB: Yeah, Transient.  We all feel for all the stress you OSU fans suffer.  I'll join in the afternoon games in my usual chair, drinking my usual iced tea.  I am nothing if not predictable.

IUinVA: Final fall ball game of the season, then should be home for the B1G Nood 4th quarter. It's hitting that time of year where I hit the sauce in the evening, and by “the sauce,” I mean decaf coffee.

Brian: I’ll be spending the week in the Great Lakes State, enjoying the fall colors and cool temperatures. This weekend I'll make my way to Ann Arbor to watch the defending champs come to town.

BoilerUp89: Cincinnati house hunting. Drinking water.

misdreavus79: Sleeping because my team is on a bye.

HoustonBoiler: Purdue is on a much needed bye this weekend, so I will attempt to catch up on my autumn yardwork - weeding and topping up the mulch to get the beds ready for winter. Water and/or Gatorade Zero during the yard work and then some wine later while I enjoy watching all of your shitty teams lose.

AlmaOtter: D&D with the lads on Friday night, then OhioOtter and I are heading to a pumpkin patch with our godkids and our friends! With any luck, hanging with the 6 year old and 3 year old should be a wonderful shitshow. Speaking of shitshows: I suppose I get to watch Illinois get obliterated by the Oregon Ducks in the afternoon. Yayyyyyy.

Now you know our plans for the weekend. Please enlighten us about where you'll be and what you'll be drinking in the comments below. And hey, we know you didn't read this. 😉
