Happy Friday and welcome to week 1 of the college football season. For those of you who skipped last weekend's appetizer, WWBWWBD is where we pull back the curtain and find out what the OTR "writers" will be doing on gameday, because they are legally bound to not watch college football.
WSR: I will be at the Historic Gopher Football Stadium on Thursday, enjoying the start of the season with the Ladyfriend and my tailgating friends and Grain Belt and potentially heat stroke. Some of us are getting too old for this shit.
MNW: I will be somewhere in the northwoods of wisconsin, tolerating my in-laws and trying to carve out 10 sweet, sweet minutes here and there to actually watch the 'Cats lose to South Dakota State, somehow. Beer will likely be a combination of New Glarus Moon Man (yum) and whatever bullshit Costco sampler pack (Bell's?) I left up there the last time we visited.
Biff: Delta Airlines will be delivering my exhausted ass to MSP at 8 AM from where I will go to Al’s Breakfast and then post up in Lot C37 waiting to greet Ben Dawson with a beer (mix of Grain Belts and Busch Lights) and a beating.
That, or Delta will strand me in Memphis. So call it 50/50.
BoilerUp89: Denver for a friend's bachelor party. I am almost sure to miss what will undoubtedly be Purdue's sole victory this year. I'll be drinking a lot. What I'll be drinking is to be determined.
BuffKomodo: Cincinnati. Basement bar. Hoosier Gameday lager my father procured and delivered across state lines. Will be fun had by all.
RUReady4Brazil: Will be in Charlotte, NC hosting my younger child's 3rd birthday party. Drinking Yuengling Light probably.
glass: I'll be in beautiful Goshen, IN visiting the family pool and drinking Pacificos with my father who will be big mad about Notre Dame win or lose because he is the worst fan in existence (which is of course redundant when speaking about a domer.)
Brian: Back in Los Angeles this weekend. And like most USC fans, I'll be watching the week one action from my couch.
deadread: In beautiful downtown Lincoln. I will be drinking coffee and enjoying a football feast.
IUinVA: Sevierville, Tennessee. Hanging out at a rented house with family and likely going to Dollywood on Sunday (RIP Dolly).
Transient Buckeye: I will be at home, just north of Dayton, Ohio, with one arm wrapped around the air conditioner, and a Sam Adams Octoberfest in the other hand.
Thump: Drinking Zombie Killer after Zombie Killer at historic Keyworth Stadium where Detroit city FC looks to consolidate its hold on a home playoff game.
AlmaOtter: Is it sacrilege to admit that on the opening Saturday of the season, your loyal editor-otter will venturing into DC to gasp play Dungeons and Dragons to celebrate one of my buddy's 35th birthday? It might be slightly profane.
But you know what? My Illini have already played! I can drink copious Oktoberfests and roll excessively-sided dice in peace and solitude while all of your teams lose. Happy opening weekend, all.
HoustonBoiler: At home, on the couch for Friday's game. I will be eating pizza and drinking wine, Guinness, Scotch, and/or Irish whiskey.
