Monday Tidbits for the Discerning Fan

CONFERENCE PLAY BEGINS!!! (IN REALLY UGLY FASHION)

Monday Tidbits for the Discerning Fan

FRIDAY

Indiana State @ Indiana; New Mexico @ UCLA: The first game won't be close. UCLA had better hope the second game isn't close.

SATURDAY EARLY AFTERNOON

Oregon @ Northwestern: So much for Northwestern being able to claim they had sole possession of first at some point in the season.

Central Michigan @ Michigan: Somebody has to come up with a Connor Stalions-themed trophy already right? PUT YOUR IDEAS IN THE COMMENTS!!!

Wisconsin @ Alabama: And so begins Wisconsin's gauntlet. Alabama isn't what we thought they were, but they're still more than enough for the Badgers. Stay healthy enough for Maryland, okay boys?

Houston Christian @ Nebraska; Towson @ Maryland: Yeah, sure, Towson is an intrastate game for the Terps, which means it is only 95% inexcusable that it's taking place. Congrats on the full 100% Nebraska.

SATURDAY LATE AFTERNOON

Villanova @ Penn State; Norfolk State @ Rutgers; Youngstown State @ Michigan State: An intra-Pennsylvania matchup, Rutgers against a HBCU, and one of Mike Tressel's old schools vs. one of Jim Tressel's old schools. And likely zero minutes of compelling football.

USC @ Purdue: Okay Barry Odom, what have you got? Last year SC lost at Maryland in the Terps' only B1G victory. Would this count as a Harboring?

SATURDAY NIGHT

Ohio @ Ohio State: Is Ohio State putting "the" up as a stake? Will it matter? (No. And no.)

Western Michigan @ Illinois: There aren't many matchups where I wouldn't want both teams to wear their home jerseys. But this might be one of them.

Massachusetts @ Iowa: Kirk Ferentz continues to accommodate the East Coast. First Albany, now UMass.

Minnesota @ California: A truly intriguing matchup. Justin Wilcox was Wisconsin's DC for a year. Wonder if he enjoyed his time in Madison enough that he'd ever consider moving back?
