Breaking News: We've Got Pictures of Ryan Walters' Big Ass Mansion in Indiana
Football, Mansions, and Lawsuits. What's more American than that?

Ok, it's not really breaking news. We don't do that sort of thing here (not after that one time when all of those Iowa Hawkeye fans got mad and tried to dox me.)
But do you remember the Ryan Walters house story? To be clear, this is the football coach Ryan Walters that Purdue hired in 2023, not the right-wing politician Ryan Walters who is in charge of Oklahoma public schools and may have recently been streaming porn on his work computer in the middle of a meeting. I digress.
Anyways, Walters made it through two turbulent years in West Lafayette, going 4-8 in 2023 (with a win over unexplained arch-rival and former colleague Bret Bielema as his crowning achievement) and a 1-11 campaign in 2024. It didn't last long for Walters at Purdue. But he certainly thought it would, because following his hiring, Walters agreed to a $3.5 million contract with local Indiana company Schrader Homes to build a massive, custom-built mansion outside of West Lafayette.
In short: the house was eventually built, but Walters never lived in it. Walters got shitcanned at the end of the 2024 season and was hired as a defensive coordinator with the Washington Huskies. The Walters house went on the market in January 2025 for a cool $4.9 million, but the listing curiously included a single rendered picture of the abode and no other photos. Unclear, but this may have been a result of the pending civil lawsuit?
Wait, what lawsuit?
UPDATE: Thanks to our intrepid friends over at SBN's Hammer and Rails, it seems that construction wasn't finalized until very, very recently. Like a few weeks ago. This helps to explain the muddy tire tracks and lack of grass in the pictures.
Drove by this house a few weeks ago. Ignored the private property signs. There was still construction stuff everywhere.

Yeah, let's get to the lawsuit. So Walters signed a contract with Schrader Homes in May 2023. By December 2023, per the lawsuit, Walters was no longer willing to pay the fee for the house and did not intend to complete the contract. Or to pay Schrader Homes for the work that had been done. Without going too far into the legal weeds (especially because I am very much not a lawyer and never even tried to take the LSAT), Walters alleged in his response that there had never been a discussion of cost and Walters and his wife had been fraudulently coerced into signing the contract. And that they had been led to believe that Schrader Homes had an excellent reputation, "which turned out not to be true."
Ok. So while Walters was leading his Boilermakers to that 1-11 season in 2024, he and his lawyer were filing various petitions to the court and lining up witnesses and exhibits for the pending trial. Skipping through the legalese, we get to this year, where a Zoom trial was set for July 18. The trial was cancelled, but the case remains active and in the (apparent) final stages. More to come.
At any rate, let's take a look at the very black and gold styled house.
The house (link here) is monstrous. 10k square feet, nearly $5 million, with a catering kitchen, a golf sim room, a home theater, plus a pool and hot tub. The fireplace and chandelier feel like a bit much to me, but hey, your mileage may vary. Maybe Walters can swing by to check it out when the Huskies come to Ross-Ade in November!
