Happy Friday everyone! Every work week needs to be a short one. Where We Be, What We Be Drinking (WWBWWBD) is our weekly feature where you learn what we will be doing on gameday, because as you know, we will not be watching college football games.
Biff: Band Row in Lot C37 in Minneapolis working through the Grain Belts leftover from last weekend since WSR never showed up. And I'll have a celebratory Beck's and Guinness prepared in case of Werder Bremen and Everton wins in the morning. Oh, and Tabasco-lime jello shots dispensed from syringes, courtesy of our tailgate host.
RUReady4Brazil: I'll be in Charlotte, NC probably drinking off another Rutgers loss Friday night.
misdreavus79: My home, some sort of coffee or post-workout recovery drink, hoping for a similar result to last week.
glass: Indy just announced they are leaving their splash pads open through September, so I will be at whichever one Kid Glass demands I take her to, drinking my weight in water and listening to the game on the radio.
IUinVA: Home in Northern VA. My son has a fall ball game in the morning, but I should be back for many hours of stupid football watching.
Brian: I'll be at Michigan Stadium this weekend watching Michigan battle Oklahoma in a game that suddenly takes on additional importance for a Wolverine team looking to improve upon last week’s performance against Western Michigan.
MNW: Northwestern's on bye (and, let's be honest, now that there are kids no one respects my schedule anyway), so I'll be in the ol' hometown for City Days. Parade, candy, probably a playdate with the cousins at my parents' house, perhaps a passing glance at the Minnesota-Mississippi State game if it's on TV (we'd have no way of knowing if it was). I'd dare to dream that lunch will be pizza from the World's Best Pizza Place, a hundred yards down the hill from my now-closed childhood elementary school and across the street from the strip club (take the proximity of those three things to mean what you will), but it'll probably be heated up chicken nuggets.
When I get the girls (that includes my wife) in bed at the end of the night I plan to dive headfirst into a six-pack of Brau Bros (Marshall, MN) Bancreagie Peated Scotch Ale and raid the freezer for some leftover Cookies and Cream ice cream.
BRT: I'll be in beautiful(?) Elkhart, IN as I'm on a research trip. I'm open to suggestions for a good local beer if anyone has them!
Transient Buckeye: At home in the northern suburbs of Dayton. Since OSU has a night game, it'll be mostly water and coffee in the afternoon. If things go well, there will be a celebratory bourbon after the game. If things go poorly, there will be consolation bourbon after the game. So I guess either way there's bourbon.
BuffKomodo: Cincinnati. Basement bar. Garage Beer lime is the beer of choice.
MaximumSam: I'll be couchbound in Westerville, Ohio. It's supposed to be rainy and mild, which means the sun room couch will be privy to my rear end and hopefully not covered in beer from the Columbus Brewing Company.
deadread: Beautiful Downtown Lincoln is where I'll be. I will be drinking coffee.
BoilerUp89: Cincinnati. Probably house shopping but might hit a bar in the Mason area for the game. Beer or water.
HWAHSQB: I’ll be at Rock Bend Folk Fest in lovely St Peter MN drinking a cream ale from Tremendous Brewing in town.
HoustonBoiler: Clearly 12 weeks ago me was an idiot and scheduled a haircut at 11:30 am. So I will likely arrive home at about 12:15 pm, but fortunately thanks to our cloud DVR I will not miss any of the Wake Forest at Purdue game and will likely be caught up to real time for the second half kickoff. I will be drinking water as I plan to be working outside following the game. The evening will feature some wine and perhaps scotch.
AlmaOtter: Northern Virginia. No obligations, no social expectations. I'm planting my ass on my couch, getting rudely ignored by my dog, and finding a beer or three.
Last week, I got a haul of some of my favorite seasonal shit from my beloved local beer store (run by wonderful Ohio State and Michigan fans: Julie and Beth, you know that I've paid for your kids' college tuition by this point). Great Lakes Nosferatu red IPA, Harpoon Flannel Friday hoppy ale, Rheingeist Franz Oktoberfest. It really is the most wonderful time of the year.
