WWBWWBD - Week 10

Find out what your “writers” are plotting this weekend, and where they’ll be plotting it.

WWBWWBD - Week 10

The finish line is coming into view, people, so grab your lucky koozie! Where We Be, What We Be Drinking (WWBWWBD) is our weekly dispatch from the gameday front lines, where we reveal the questionable adventures we’ll chase and the beverages we’ll hoist, all because we’re contractually obligated to keep college football far, far away from our screens.

MNW: It now looks like I WON'T have to have a Saturday work event at the most magical place on earth, so I'll be home!

...that mostly means yardwork as we polish off the last of the leaves, I assume, but also a night game that means I'll get to do my favorite* things: drink and sulk about Northwestern sports.

We're planning to smash some burgers on the griddle, fry up some bacon, and enjoy a real greasy dinner. Get the Wildkits to bed, and then I'm going to be trying some Whit Wort Brewing fare – shout-out to Gibbon, Minnesota. The Midwest Belgian looks interesting, as does the Island-Hopping Blonde.

misdreavus79: Home, without any responsibilities, finally. So I'll get to watch Penn State shit the bed against Washington in peace!

RUReady4Brazil: Rock Hill, SC. Instead of flying to Madison with my son to see Rutgers as I planned to preseason, the team is just too bad. So instead it's a 3 year old brat's birthday party (Tsingtao) and Winthrop Volleyball Senior Day (Middle James Big Stuff Pale Ale).

IUinVA: No kid activities and no IU game. Just a beautiful day to watch college football armageddon Saturday.

BoilerUp89: Cincinnati... have not planned beyond that.

Kind of...: I'll be in the greater Philadelphia area. What (or if) I drink will depending heavily on how much I drink Tuesday night, and why I drink Tuesday night.

glass: At 1230 I will at my home in Indianapolis soaking in a bathtub after yet another failed attempt at finishing the Monumental Half Marathon in an hour and 40 minutes. Rueing every training run I missed for the last 3 months. Then Ill down a few stouts to replace the lost carbs.

BuffKomodo: Cincinnati. Light beer of some kind. Will be locked in with tryouts this weekend so a great timed bye week all around.

Biff: Wife's out of town, kid has a birthday party and hockey practice so I think I'm going to miss the game. I'll make up for it by probably taking an afternoon nap followed by a few small beers of indeterminate variety. And the whiskey I brought back from Memphis.

Transient Buckeye: Feels like I'm coming down with something, so I'm very likely going to be slumped in the recliner, alternating between ThroatKote and TheraFlu.

MaximumSam: Last band competition of the year, so I probably have to stay sober. Maybe I can call the kids an Uber.

Thumpasaurus: My ass will be on the couch Friday with some Fox & Oden rye.

RMB: Watching the games and shitposting from my basement as usual.  Until the evening games.  Then I'll do something more fun.  Like set myself on fire.

lincolnparkwildcat: I'll be at home, drinking my usual local IPAs.

Brian: Where else would I be this weekend? I'll be in Ann Arbpr for the Battle for the Paul Bunyan Trophy. Neither team is exactly having a stellar season, but I’m hoping it's a compelling game, nonetheless.

BRT: Having concentrated on Mannheim to good effect last weekend, I think I'm going to go explore Heidelberg on Saturday. I will probably be drinking Schokolade. Lest this all sound too idyllic, I will also be devoting significant time to memorizing the million picky little rules of word endings in dativ and akkusativ cases and weeping in despair. Would still rather do that than watch Nebraska lose by a score to Illinois.

WSR: I am currently planning on attending the game at the Historic Gopher Football Stadium and drinking some Grain Belts, in addition to some peppermint schnapps that mixes very well with the hot chocolates that they serve.

Will those plans actually happen? Well, we won't actually know that until Saturday.

HoustonBoiler: I will be doing yard work and preparing for winter, i.e., moving all the patio contents to the garage, bringing in the hoses, covering the AC units, etc. I will enjoy some wine with dinner and into the evening.

AlmaOtter: Friday night football is back! And the last time Nebraska came to Champaign, Dick Butkus had died a few days earlier and Memorial Stadium had been in flames. So, you know. Things are looking ever so slightly up? I'll have my ass planted on my couch, pizza and beer in hand.

Now you know our plans for the weekend. Please enlighten us about where you'll be and what you'll be drinking in the comments below. And hey, we know you didn't read this. 😉
