How did we do last week?

“Escaping your Family - The Crab Bucket,” David Hanscom, MD

Thirteen were positive, sixteen were negative. In an interesting twist, none of the B1G favorites covered in their games. The crab bucket is alive and well.

Week 6 Winner:

Congratulations to our Week 6 winner, scarlet_pimpernal_hand, who went 4-2 with 51.5 Petittis! The best picks here were Purdue +2.5, Iowa +3, and UCLA +11.5, all of which whom won comfortably. Nicely done!

Honorable mention: ziowa9 has been kicking butt all year and has stretched their season lead to 65.5 points, on a 23-12 record. You may actually be good at this game. Very impressive.

Pick of the Week: Purdue +2.5 (IUinVA, Rubber_Duck, WarlockofWestwood, scarlet_pimpernal_hand, RockyMtnBlue). Purdue destroyed Jekyll and Hyde Minnesota and continue their path to, dare I say, a bowl game?

Dishonorable mention: Those who picked Minnesota -2.5 as their Coldest Brew (Mr_Grizz, LordFerentzofHouseKinnick, NU06er). Twelve people picked Minnesota, but the three of you who picked it as your CB get the callout. Putting your drink in the freezer may cool it faster, but if you forget about it, it is destined to explode.

Six Pack Certified (6-0): MNW (week 3).

This game requires a lot of data entry and I will make mistakes. Please let me know if you have any questions about scoring or if something looks wrong:

2026 OTR B1G Six Pack

Rules:

Make six picks every week. Correct picks are worth five points, incorrect picks are negative five points. Mark one of your picks as the Coldest Brew (CB), which will be worth ten points if correct, negative ten if incorrect. Bonus points are allocated based on deviation from the spread. Please include the spread with your pick (Iowa -3 (CB), Iowa/Opponent Over 36, etc). If anyone manages to get all six correct in a week, they’ll be Six Pack Certified and garner an additional twenty-five bonus points.

I’ll tabulate the scores and standings every week. If anyone missed previous weeks and would like to join, no problem! You’ll start at the current league median value of 933 Petittis. If I make any egregious errors (Ohio State as a 27 point underdog, when they are actually favored by 27), please let me know. Obvious spread errors won’t count.

Friday (“-“ means a team is favored):

Washington at Purdue (-3.5), O/U 52.5

Saturday (early):

Ohio State (-3.5) at Indiana, O/U 50.5

Northwestern (-7.5) at Michigan State, O/U 48.5

Rutgers at Maryland (-6), O/U 56.5

Saturday (mid-afternoon):

Penn State at Michigan (-6.5), O/U 42.5

Saturday (evening):

Wisconsin at UCLA (-2.5), O/U 45.5

Saturday (late):

Nebraska at Oregon (-7.5), O/U 52.5

Have fun, and always Iowa Over responsibly.
