How did we do last week?
Not a great week. Eleven had positive Petittis, eighteen were negative. Moving on.
Week 4 Winner:
Congratulations to our Week 4 winner, LordFerentzofHouseKinnick, who went 4-2 on the week with 78 Petittis! The notable pick here was UCLA -2.5. Congrats!
Pick of the Week: UCLA -2.5 (LordFerentzofHouseKinnick (CB), TheDuluthPerspective (CB), DtownK, NU06er). UCLA traveled across the country and turned a Big Ten team into turtle soup (in September). This pick awarded a whopping 48.5 bonus points. Special props for the Coldest Brew designations as well.
Honorable mention: Honorable mention this week goes to the Itty Bitty Petitti Committee (DtownK and HoustonBoiler). It's been a tough go this season, but they both finished the week with positive Petittis. Additionally, special shoutout to TheDuluthPerspective, who has earned positive Petittis in all four weeks this season. Impressive.
Dishonorable mention: Everyone who picked Maryland (MNW, WarlockofWestwood, redbear, allthegoodnamesrgone, Sasser). So you're telling me that you had twenty different picks to choose from and you specifically chose Mike Locksley against the "Next Indiana?" I kindly ask that you take a lap. Also, I don't know what's worse, Penn State losing at home to Wisconsin, or the OTR "writers" who unanimously picked them to cover (congrats to our season leader, ziowa9, for see through it and taking the Badgers). This game requires a lot of data entry and I will make mistakes. Please let me know if you have any questions about scoring or if something looks wrong:
Rules:
Make six picks every week. Correct picks are worth five points, incorrect picks are negative five points. Mark one of your picks as the Coldest Brew (CB), which will be worth ten points if correct, negative ten if incorrect. Bonus points are allocated based on deviation from the spread. Please include the spread with your pick (Iowa -3 (CB), Iowa/Opponent Over 36, etc). If anyone manages to get all six correct in a week, they’ll be Six Pack Certified and garner an additional twenty-five bonus points.
I’ll tabulate the scores and standings every week. If anyone missed previous weeks and would like to join, no problem! You’ll start at the current league median value of 931.5 Petittis. If I make any egregious errors (Ohio State as a 27 point underdog, when they are actually favored by 27), please let me know. Obvious spread errors won’t count.
