Wednesday September 10 Links and Banter
Including some rage from yours truly.
- Leading off with the one that angered me the most. I realize that everything in college sports, and really writ large across this country, inherently involves money. But for fuck's sake, selling the naming rights to Memorial Stadium. Have you no shame? Has this stadium not been consecrated by deed, by the lives and deaths of the 200 Illinois grads on the 200 columns surrounding it? I suspect that you'll see more words from me on this as soon as I quit yelling at various windmills in my neighborhood.
- In normal games, a kickoff follows a touchdown, a punt follows a 3rd down. But hey, why not try some new stuff out, Mizzou-Kansas refs?
- The Bears lost in Bearsian fashion on Monday. Wash, rinse, repeat.
- College football is actively trying to alienate college students. Who is this for?
- This one's for all of you new parents out there. Are you an exhausted parent or are you a feral raccoon?
- Hey, Northwestern has a new (old) president after the last one fled. I'm sure that'll fix the whole "let's freeze your funding" thing.
- Oh hi Minnesota:
