Tuesday March 3 Links and Banter
It's an Apple Banana kind of day
My nephew is turning three next month. He's a wonderfully precocious little shithead, although it took him a little bit to figure out the whole "speaking with words" thing. Before things clicked, he would clearly have thoughts to express, but no capacity to do so. Since my wife and I visited the family in Milwaukee over Christmas, my nephew has rapidly picked up hundreds of words. It's truly astounding to watch.
But even after all of those words he doesn't always know what he wants to say. When there aren't any good ways to express what's going on in his head, he says "apple banana." It's a placeholder, a nothing phrase, something sort of akin to a dog turning its head sideways in slight confusion.
Things are strange these days. Apple banana.

Do you ever feel like this
