We have friends everywhere.

For the non-nerds in the back, it's a tagline from the Star Wars show Andor (go watch it, it's beyond wonderful). But it also means something to the here and now. There are people that feel just as you feel in every corner of the galaxy, no matter how wide the boundaries.

Yesterday was a hard day. Today will likely be hard as well. Tomorrow will be worse. And so on. We need to collect friends everywhere to make it through.

We assemble at this strange site as an accidental collective. We're a very marginal sports talk place; we're here to escape from the bad stuff, the real stuff, the dark stuff. We're here to talk ball and talk shit and root for punts and safeties and an occasional big man TD. At their heart, sports are about tribalism. They're a way to create fanbases, groups, families. We aren't the only site for that. Other places are more focused and more specific than we are. Some fixate on Ohio State football or UCLA basketball or what have you. There's a site for all seasons and all fanbases. You could easily be elsewhere!

But for the very weird assembly at OTR (hey, that's you!)? We are fans across the length and breath of the conference and the country. We have Rutgers fans in California, we've got Purdue fans in Ohio. We have Illini fans in Michigan, we've got Michigan fans in Denver, we have Hoosier fans in Virginia. Northwestern Wildcats in Minnesota, Wisconsin Badgers in Pennsylvania. We're in all kinds of places.

And in the dark times, when we need help from all corners? When collaboration and communication get tough, when cutting across the tribes becomes challenging?

We‘re the lucky ones. We have friends everywhere.

All that said: we have 16/18 fanbases in the Sherman Grants! And we're closing in on $5,000.00!
