World Cup Recaps and Previews, Wednesday June 24: Time to Win or Go Home
For some teams, this is the end of the line
Expected result, but Vegas was right to see this as a close one. I was very wrong on my take that new Buckeyes DC and noted Man With Beard Matt Patricia would be a total shit hire.
There's a contingent of Penn Staters that are calling for Franklin's firing. Yeah, he can't win the Big One. But this isn't a Big One if he's not there over the past decade. Take heed from Nebraska; sometimes, the glory days don't come back. And what seems bad now might be worse a decade later. Oregon is really really good and Penn State damn near won. Nits, don't take that for granted.
The power of Kinnick remains alive and well, clearly. Indiana and Coach Cigs won, but it was a brutal slog with an abundance of socks full of nickels. The victory formation incident was odd and resulted in an intentional safety. Strange game. Good result!
I'm not the kind of fan to bitch about the refs. Seriously! But the refs, they kind of fucked us with this one. Illinois still pulled it out with a walk-off field goal, mostly because Directional California wanted to lose more than we did. Nice bounce back for the Illini O Line and Illinois generally. Eat shit, Trojans.
I didn't watch a second of this, but it seemed fun?
Same for this one.
For some teams, this is the end of the line
At least they beat Maryland
"September Maryland" really broke contain
