No, I don't know a damn thing about B1G softball. This is very much not expert analysis! But I do love a good tournament with a schedule heavily skewed into the daytime workweek hours.
Here's what you need to know: only the top 12 of the 17 B1g squads made the tourney (and USC doesn't sponsor a team because ... land reasons?). Nebraska ran away with the regular season title this year, going 23-1 in conference and winning their last 18 games. Oregon and UCLA were very good, but in a slightly different range at 20-4 each. Indiana scored the fourth bye, but was clearly a tier below top three at 17-7.
The rest? They're probably just here for the fun trip to University of Maryland-CollegeUniversityParkCampusMetroStation in early May. Let's get to the bracket and today's schedule.
#12 Minnesota v #5 Washington
11:00 AM ET/10:00 AM GTZ. BTN.
#9 Michigan v #8 Ohio State
1:30 ET/12:30 GTZ. BTN.
#10 Purdue v #7 Wisconsin
4:30 ET/3:30 GTZ. BTN.
#11 Penn State v #6 Northwestern.
7:00 PM ET/6:00 GTZ. BTN.
For no reason but for the fun of being loudly wrong in public, my picks as follows: Minnesota with the upset, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Northwestern.
