Big Ten Basketball: March 7
One Bubble to Rule Them All
Thursday
Michigan Wolverines 71, Iowa Hawkeyes 68
Michigan State Spartans 91, Rutgers Scarlet Knights 87
MaximumSam: Mostly funny due to Izzo putting in his seniors and having them kiss the logo and everything at the end of the game. But then they played like ass and nearly gave up a 15 point lead in the last minute.
Today
#22 Wisconsin Badgers (21-9, 13-6) at #8 Purdue Boilermakers (23-7, 13-6)
4 pm, CBS
#28 Indiana Hoosiers (18-12, 8-10) at #26 Ohio State Buckeyes (19-11, 11-8)
5:30 pm, FOX
MaximumSam: It's a Bubble Off! At least for Ohio State, who seem like a lock for the tourney with a win. They are up to a 10 seed on Bracketology. Plus, Bruce Thornton needs 12 points to become the all time leading scorer in OSU history.
So it feels like they are primed to play like a bevy of wobbly cats. Indiana is in desperation mode - the Hoosiers are currently in the "Last Four In" group but could easily fall with a loss. Also don't forget about Gabe Cupps, who is going to foul so hard against his former team.
#30 UCLA Bruins (20-10, 12-7) at #64 USC Trojans (18-12, 7-12)
9 pm, FS1
#65 Northwestern Wildcats (13-17, 5-14) at #57 Minnesota Golden Gophers (14-16, 7-12)
9 pm, BTN
MaximumSam: The Detective is still technically on the clock. There are more cases to solve. But in just days it will be just him, sitting on his porch, petting his dog Boo, and sipping his two liter of Malort. Nobody will be stepping on his lawn.
#47 Washington Huskies (15-15, 7-12) at #90 Oregon Ducks (11-19, 4-15)
11 pm, FS1
